Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has removed Geoffrey Mosiria as Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, in a reshuffle announced on Wednesday by County Secretary Machel Waikenda.

Zipporah Njeri Mwangi is now Acting Chief Officer for Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service. Samwel Njogu becomes Acting Chief Officer for Mobility, and Godfrey Akumali will also act as Chief Officer for Lands. The changes took effect immediately.

The county gave no reason for the removal. It comes after Mosiria announced on 11 October that he would challenge Sakaja for the governorship in the 2027 election.

Mosiria said he would defend himself through the courts against allegations he called false, and denied claims in a video that he diverted county medicines. No response from the Governor's office to his remarks had been reported at the time of writing.
